Professional Ballet Training Programs for Students Pursuing a Career in Dance
Designed as a formal career preparation pathway, students are nurtured to progress and develop their artistry with support from our team of acclaimed faculty, Performance Health practitioners and business staff.
Students from across Australia and internationally are invited to apply and audition for places in our programs.
#Academy Programs
Foundation Program
Years Prep - 6
An introductory program where children learn the foundations of ballet and prepare for professional ballet and dance training.
Upper and Lower School
Years 7 - 12
For students working at a high level of ballet and dance training who wish to pursue a professional dance career without forgoing face-to-face senior academic studies.
Pre-Professional Program
Post-secondary school
Enhancing students’ technique and performance skills, preparing them for a career with a professional ballet company.
Guest Academy Program
Years 7 - 9
For children living outside the Brisbane metropolitan area, wanting to experience a taste of professional dance training at Queensland Ballet Academy.
#2026 Auditions
#The Audition Process
Entry to all Academy programs is by invitation or audition. Each audition is an open ballet class and contemporary class*, this may be followed by a call-back. Applicants are not required to pre-prepare any material, although some applicants may be required to undertake an interview.
*For Upper and Lower School Levels 1 & 2 / years 11 & 12 only.
Auditions for the Guest Academy Program will be held via video audition submission only.

Queensland Ballet Academy welcomes talented dancers from around the world to audition for our training programs. For those unable to attend in-person auditions, video submissions offer an accessible pathway to showcase your artistry, technique, and potential.
Video Auditions are welcomed for our Guest Academy Program and for International Applicants to our Upper & Lower School Programs, and our Pre-Professional Program.
