#Lower School students present classwork and repertoire excerpts in the Academy’s studio theatre at Kelvin Grove.

Designed to share elements of the professional training offered at Queensland Ballet Academy, our Lower School students (Levels 4 – 6) will present classwork and repertoire excerpts across two demonstration sessions.

This showcase event includes demonstrations across a range of dance styles including classical ballet, contemporary dance, classical, character, and historical dance, along with excerpts of dynamic repertoire learned by that the students have learnt in their current year of training.

We hope you will join us and enjoy the work of our dedicated dancers at our state-of-the-art home at Kelvin Grove.

Our Lower School program is for students in academic years 7 – 9. The program combines a half-day of professional ballet training and a half-day of academic studies at Kelvin Grove State College. This professional training program is comprehensively designed to develop students’ skills to the highest artistic and technical standards, offering initial preparation to move into our Upper School and Pre-Professional Program and a career in a professional ballet or dance company.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
