Upper School - Contemporary Course
An exciting course designed to equip dancers with a strong, hybrid skill set across both ballet and contemporary techniques, in preparation for pre-professional and tertiary contemporary dance studies.
Under the direction of our Head of Contemporary Dance and Resident Choreographer, Louise Deleur, this course is an additional pathway available within the Upper School. It is suited to students entering year 11 or 12, who are seeking a career in professional companies whose repertoire incorporates contemporary, modern or neo-classical genres.
Graduates of this unique course will be primed to progress into further training as strong, classically trained pre-professional dancers with highly developed skills attained through a focused development of a range of contemporary dance techniques and specialised skills including partnering, improvisation and choreography.
