The Allison Baden-Clay Scholarship funded by the Queensland Government offers financial support to a talented dancer in their final Upper School year at the Academy.

Established in 2018, this scholarship honours the legacy of Allison Baden-Clay who is remembered as a warm, talented and intelligent woman who had a passion for ballet, an artform she loved and pursued as a child and into her teenage years.

Since 2018, the Allison Baden-Clay Scholarship has enabled three Upper School students to continue their training with the aid of partial tuition fee relief. Students completing this year are typically undertaking full-time dance training alongside a Year 12 academic study load at Kelvin Grove State College, and wish to pursue a professional career in ballet or dance. Jette Parker Young Artist Edison Manuel was awarded the Allison Baden-Clay Scholarship in 2019.

“Receiving the Allison Bayden-Clay scholarship set me up for my future. After receiving the scholarship, my professional ballet training at Queensland Ballet Academy flourished. I am forever grateful for the chance to continue to develop as an artist, athlete, and person.

"The kindness and generosity of the foundation has offered me so many opportunities and I am forever grateful. I hope to carry the kindness throughout my life," he said.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
