The magic returns

With a landmark world premiere in Brisbane in December 2026, Queensland Ballet's spectacular new production of The Nutcracker returns for its second festive season in 2027.

Commissioned by and created for Queensland, this enchanting reimagining by internationally acclaimed choreographer Derek Deane OBE and award-winning designer Lez Brotherston OBE, ushers in a new era for a beloved Christmas tradition.

Journey with Clara through a world of wonder, where extraordinary characters, breathtaking stagecraft and exquisite choreography come together beneath the glow of Tchaikovsky's immortal score. 

Filled with magic, imagination and festive joy, The Nutcracker is a celebration of Christmas for audiences of all ages and a tradition destined to be treasured for generations to come.
