Foundation Program Mid-Year Demonstration

The Foundation Program Mid-Year Demonstration offers audiences a special opportunity to step inside the training environment of the Academy of Queensland Ballet, tailored especially for our youngest students. This demonstration provides a glimpse into the early stages of structured dance training. Rather than a traditional performance, it showcases classwork and selected exercises, highlighting the development of fundamental technique, musicality, coordination, and artistry at this important stage of learning.

Audiences will see how core skills are introduced and nurtured through ballet and contemporary practice, alongside simple repertoire excerpts studied during the semester. The focus is on building strong foundations, confidence, and a love of dance. All performances will be accompanied by live music, just as students experience in their weekly lessons.

Designed to be both informative and engaging, the Foundation Program Mid-Year Demonstration allows families and supporters to gain insight into the Academy’s teaching approach and the progression of students as they begin their training journey.
