Daniel Jaber
Daniel was born in Nairne, in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, and is of Lebanese and Maori lineage. He trained at the Barbara Jayne Dance Centre before continuing his studies through the Queensland University of Technology, Queensland Ballet Company and the Adelaide College of the Arts. In 2003 he joined the Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) as a trainee, under the direction of Garry Stewart and from 2004 as a company member.
Daniel worked as a company dancer at the ADT for 18 years (2003-2021), during which time he toured world extensively while performing in new and existing repertoire. Daniel has performed with Philip Adams Balletlab, National Theatre Mannheim, Stadttheatre Freiburg, and a number of independent choreographers in Australia and Western Europe.
As a freelance artist he concentrated largely on choreography, creating works for ADT, Expressions Dance Company (now Australasian Dance Collective), Houston Ballet II, Qantas, Dance Moms, Dubai Festival, Queensland University of Technology, Adelaide College of the Arts, Transit Dance and Architanz Tokyo. In addition, he restaged Garry Stewart’s repertoire on several tertiary institutions, universities and colleges throughout Australia and NZ.
In 2025, Jaber was assistant to the choreographer Garry Stewart on the Queensland Ballet Company’s world premiere of Elastic Hearts.
