Daniel Mulligan

Daniel Mulligan was born in London, United Kingdom, and trained at the Royal Ballet School. Upon graduating in 2007, he joined the Junior Ballet Zürich for two years before moving into the main company.

During his career, he performed numerous soloist roles in works by Edward Clug, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Marco Goecke, Johan Inger, Jiří Kylián, Sol León/Paul Lightfoot, Hans van Manen, Cathy Marston, Marcos Morau, Douglas Lee, Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Alexei Ratmansky, Jerome Robbins, Heinz Spoerli, Meryl Tankard, and Christian Spuck. He has also taught as a guest for Staatsballett Berlin, Ballett Zürich, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Ballett Graz, Bern Ballett, and Ballet du Rhin.

He is an assistant to Christian Spuck and has staged his works internationally, including Winterreise for Staatsballett Berlin, Anna Karenina with the National Ballet of Canada, and Messa da Requiem and Das Siebte Blau for Queensland Ballet. He has also staged Chamber Minds by Edward Clug for Queensland Ballet and the duet Reminiscence by Craig Davidson for Vanemuine Ballet in Tartu, Estonia.

He completed the Royal Academy of Dance’s Professional Dancers’ Postgraduate Teaching Certificate with Distinction. Daniel was a performer for the Marina Abramović retrospective at the Kunsthaus Zürich in 2024/2025.
