Queensland Ballet Academy collaborating with Brisbane International Ballet Grand Prix
Queensland Ballet (QB) Academy is delighted to feature in the inaugural Brisbane International Ballet Grand Prix finals event on the evening of Sunday, 22 March at the Edmund Rice Performing Arts Centre in South Brisbane.
The Academy’s Pre-Professional Program dancers will perform a dance piece by Resident Choreographer, Louise Deleur; whilst Academy Director, Christian Tátchev will participate in a Q&A session on the same day as part of the Parents and Teachers Forum.
Regarding the partnership, Events Director of Brisbane Eisteddfod, Heather Shaw said,
“Collaborating with Queensland Ballet Academy is a natural fit with the establishment of 'Brisbane International Ballet Grand Prix' by the Brisbane Eisteddfod as the Academy epitomises the ethos of this exciting new event by offering excellence in dance opportunities for aspiring young dancers in every corner of Australia and beyond.”
Academy Director, Christian Tátchev states that the opportunity to work with the Brisbane International Ballet Grand Prix is a “valuable opportunity to engage and meet dancers and their families from across Australia, showcasing the talent we’re nurturing here in Brisbane.”
Queensland Ballet Academy is Queensland’s premier ballet academy. The Academy produces young dancers whose talents and abilities are in demand throughout Australia and the world. From 2021, Academy students are offered an academic pathway from Year 7 through to 12, alongside their elite training, which includes performance opportunities throughout the year.
In 2020, Queensland Ballet Academy students will also be performing in Queensland Ballet Company productions such as the 60th Anniversary Gala, Peter and the Wolf, and Synergy.
