Audition Insights Day

On the Ekka Public Holiday, the Academy of Queensland Ballet is holding its Audition Insights Day for students aged 11 to 18 years old.
As an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the professional audition process, students will take part in an audition-style class designed to reflect industry practice. The day will also include a dedicated post-class feedback session, Q&A panel with faculty members, and a specialised safe dance practice workshop to provide dancers with valuable strategies to perform confidently in high-pressure conditions.
Audition Insights Day will be held at the Thomas Dixon Centre, home of Queensland Ballet. Students will have the opportunity to train in the Company’s state-of-the-art studios, gaining insight into how an audition is staged within a professional environment. This experience will be valuable to those preparing for audition season, particularly those attending the Academy’s upcoming audition events.

Schedule
Classes will be held between 9.30am and 4.30pm with final details confirmed via email the week prior to the event.
Attire
Ladies: Leotard of own choice, ballet tights, ballet flats and pointe shoesˆ.
ˆOnly required for registrants aged 14+
Men: Fitted T-shirt and shorts/bike pants or unitard with socks and ballet flats.
Registrants may also wear black footless tights and/or shorts for contemporary class.
